Ex acrobata alla Scala di Milano, fondatore della Piccola Scuola di Circo e padre di quattro figli. A sessant’anni, si trova nel silenzio della casa, davanti ad una scena vuota. Intraprende così un viaggio solitario tra finzione e realtà, tra passato e presente, tra visibilità e invisibilità. delle alpi. Si erge isolata dal resto delle vette circostanti e sovrasta i paesi di Breuil-Cervinia in Italia e di Zermatt in Svizzera, note località turistiche. Le città, divise dalla montagna, sono da sempre unite da appassionati e professionisti di sport invernali. Nel 2020, però, la pandemia da Covid-19 ha rotto gli equilibri. Se da una parte, in Svizzera, le nuove regole di accesso agli impianti non hanno impedito di vivere la montagna, dall­’altra, in Italia, la chiusura totale ha annullato il turismo, causando una perdita di circa 7 milioni di euro di fatturato secondo la Cervino S.p.a. La montagna a due teste è il racconto di una nuova normalità paradossale e, allo stesso tempo, simboleggia una condizione umana di conflitto interiore, che nei momenti di difficoltà si mostra più chiara. Lo split screen e il suono stereo sottolineano questo paradosso. Nella parte svizzera i turisti si adattano ai nuovi comportamenti con le solite abitudini: fanno shopping, sciano, scattano selfie. La mascherina diventa comune, così come gli incessanti avvisi diffusi dagli altoparlanti. The differences in the various countries’ political choices create paradoxical situations in which everything reveals its opposite. On the one hand there is an inhabited, populated, domesticated landscape; on the other, there is the void, which has allowed nature to reclaim possession of its spaces.
